Sunday club run with a proper cafe stop
Riders: Matt (obviously still fresh from his day as a courrier in London), James, Ella, Terry, Clive, Chris A, Chris M, PB, Adi, me
Route: Caton-Wray-Bentham-Bowland Knotts-Slaidburn-Back lane to Newton- in-Bowland-Dunsop Bridge-Wild Boar Park-Chipping-Oakenclough- Harris End Conditions: Wet, about 4 degrees, strengthening NE wind. Distance: 65 miles I'll leave it to @chrisatherton71 to write a more comprehensive ride report. In the space of a few rides he has established himself as the undisputed expert. Cafe stop photos at Dunsop Bridge: Clive and his Full English, James and his tasty pea soup, homemade fruit loaf, corned beef hotpot with pickled red cabbage and a very tasty plum crumble with cream. Admittedly the cafe stop came a bit late. I was starving so I ordered a little too much. I found it heavy going coming out of Chipping as my digestive system was monopolising most of my energy ;-) Legs felt much better afterwards though. A good and efficient digestion is an essential skill for any Long-distance cyclist.
